roman

So, I forgot to post on here that we found out that we’re having a boy last week. :) We couldn’t be more excited. We are both very into sports, so I’m sure some of Roman’s first toys will be footballs, baseballs, basketballs, etc.

RHW We absolutely cannot wait to meet him. It will be a huge change for us, but one that’s well worth it.

I can’t help but keep thinking of how amazing life is, that he is inside of me (kicking me as I type) and began as two microscopic cells. That he has a teeny tiny heart that is beating wildly all the time, tiny hands and fingers, and all of his organs and systems are slowly forming. The human body is amazing to me anyway, but this takes my amazement to a whole new level.

I keep wondering what he will look like, what his personality will be like, what things he will enjoy, etc. It will be an awesome journey that we (Aaron, Roman, and I) will get to experience together. (It will also be very interesting being the only female in the house with two males…)

Anyway, I guess that’s my rant on personal stuff for the night. :) I think it’s a pretty good rant.

some perspective

Let this video put your failures into perspective. The greatest basketball player to ever grace the court didn’t do everything perfectly, why should anyone hold themselves to that standard? We all fail, the key is to take those failures or mistakes or whatever and learn from them. Don’t let the failures keep you down and you WILL persevere.

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!”
