Weeelll, I’ve gotten behind on my posts again… Aaron and I found out that we’re expecting our first child about two weeks ago so I’ve had a lot on my mind – not to mention the nausea… So, I’ll try to get back on it here pretty soon.

I did read a really good newspaper column that my mom showed me yesterday. It was basically talking about a ‘baby workout.’ Baby’s these days are carried all the time, they sit in car seats, swings, bouncy seats, and are put to sleep on their backs. All this can lead to a delay in development with regards to them learning to push up and gain control of their necks. The article said that from birth we should place our babies on their stomachs for short periods of time (10 seconds for an infant per day) so they can develop that strength. Interesting things that I’ve never thought of… I will definitely be doing this with our baby.

Needless to say, we’re super pumped and can’t wait to meet our little one!!

back in town

My husband and I are finally back in town! It feels good to be able to sleep in our own bed again. :) We were gone to North Carolina for about two weeks and then went to Kentucky for a short weekend. We got back this afternoon after being gone for what seemed like forever. I feel so far behind, but it was good to get away for a little while. I’ve got to get back on my research and I will try to get back to posting on here ASAP for all of you out there who read my posts. In the meantime, get moving! Get outside, play with your kids, run, jog, lift some heavy stuff, you get the idea… And eat well in the process (“well” meaning as healthy as possible).
